Cuntry Church had a string of hits from their triple platinum album cleverly titled ' Its the Cuntry Church'
The original Christian rock band, Cuntry Church spawned a whole new generation of religious rock music and was a powerhouse in the rock industry for more than 3 decades. Hits such as 'Defender of the Peace' and ' I'll bury you alive' became anthems to the young and old alike. Although their 'Raw' style unfortunately prevented them from breaking through to the mainstream music markets, Cuntry Church recieved a bounty of awards and played many a sold out concert. Their first and only album sold over 1.4 copies in Uzbekistan alone, a record which still stands today (probably because tape/cd players are banned there) The only Rock band to win three Grannies (the equivilent of the Grammy's in Finland) Cuntry Church swept the pool by taking 'Best Rock Band', Album of the year and the coveted 'only artist to turn up to the ceremony award'.
Sadly like many rock gods before them, Eastern Europe success went to their heads and eventually resulted in the group disbanding. Lead Singer Matthew Szabo went on to release a solo album 'Matt gets Cuntry on yall' which had mediocre reviews. Drummer Chris "Flange" Craib went onto to land an acting role in the highly acclaimed action series "Power Rangers' as the uncoordinated Pink ranger'.
Perhaps sadest of all 'Father Rick' the once mentor of the band (and lead triangle player) fell into a life of crime and drugs whilst "spreading the word" through countless maximum security prisons. His life was taken in a tragic crack smoking accident in which he was "demonstrating the evils of drugs" to other inmates. Amongst all the sadness, the group felt it their duty to join the Live 8 bandwagon and reunite for world peace. Playing in the moscow concert, the band belted out its hits including an rare performance of ' Ahhh Rinden' (you have big titties mix) Fans turned out in the dozens to be part of a truly unique experience. NB: The band has apologised for the Moscow concert turnout after being blamed as the sole reason for the record low numbers
